Ginger ( 11/2 inch long piece)

Green Chili (2)
Salt (as required) ( I would use 1 1/4 tsp salt for this quantity of dal)
Water for blending (as required)
Hing (a pinch, optional)
Desi ghee/clarified butter (optional)
Sauce/ pickle/spicy powder of your choice (optional)
