Crispy and delicious addition to your tea time snack recipes.
2 to3 cups oil for frying
2 cups of white flour
3/4 cup water (to bind dough)
1 tbsp of carom seeds or ajwain seed (optonal)
1 tsp salt
2 tbsp olive oil
20 to 25 whole cloves for securing the layers
In a large tray add all the ingredients and massage the flours between you hand, slowly start adding the water and binding the dough really well until you have a semi stiff dough. Wait at least 25 min for the dough to rest. Make small rounds and keep them aside then roll it out to make a 4 to 5 inch circle make sure you poke the holes again and fold it then make some holes with a fork to prevent them from puffing up then fold it length wise and then the width side, poke it in the middle with a clove to hold the layers together and fry on med low to make them nice and crispy.
Makes about 30 depending on the size
